Techelsberg is known for its wood carvers, but also for its down-to-earth life. Some beautiful wayside shrines are characteristic of the area around the Techelsberg. The most important of them is the Tschachonig Cross, which, with its eight meters height, is the largest wayside shrine in Carinthia.
The community Techelsberg am Wörthersee extends from the north bank of the Wörthersee, of which it has a share of about 5 km, in an irregular relief characterized by wooded hills and ridges up to the highest peaks of the Ossiacher Tauern, namely Taubenbühel (1069 m) and Hohen Gallin (1046 m).
