ST JEAN D’AULPS

Located in the heart of the valley, the village of St Jean d’Aulps gave its name to this valley of Haut Chablais: “valis de alpibus”, the valley of the Aulps meaning alp, mountain pasture.

Due to its abbey and the monks who lived there, the town is also the origin of all the surrounding villages.

Over time, this village has seen its hamlets scatter on each side of the Dranse, so much so that today it offers the image of an inhabited mountain.

With the rise of skiing, St Jean d’Aulps has developed a ski resort with natural assets which is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area.

Do not miss: guided tours of the Abbey of Aulps, hike to the Graydon pasture, walk “Discovering Saint Jean d’Aulps” …

Le Roc d’Enfer, a family resort with grandiose landscapes, will delight lovers of quiet and itinerant skiing. The area is ideal for beginners on boards or to improve your skills, far from the crowded slopes of the big resorts!
