The Ski Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is among the top 3 largest ski areas in Austria .

Thanks to the Tirol’s lift connection, it has grown to a total of 270 kilometers of slopes in recent years! Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy a huge area between the Glemm and Pillerseetal regions for lots of fun and action on and off the slopes. And the Ski Alpin Card, which will be introduced in the 2019/20 season, also enables the use of the Zell am See / Kaprun ski area and thus a choice of 408 km of slopes plus glacier experience in the Kitzsteinhorn ski area.

The Ski Circus is a huge ski area between the valley towns of Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Vorderglemm, Leogang and, since winter 2015/2016, also Fieberbrunn in the neighboring Pillerseetal.

Thanks to the Tirol’s gondola, seamless skiing between two federal states, Salzburg and Tyrol, is possible. At Schattberg, Zwöhttps://www.alpincard.at/lferkogel, Reiterkogel, Bernkogel, Kohlmaiskopf, Asitz and Lärchfilzkogel there are 270 kilometers of slopes and ski routes that range from 860 m in the valley to 2,096 m on the mountain. 140 km of blue slopes alone are designed for families and novice drivers, while leisure carvers and advanced skiers can expect 112 km of red slopes.

There are also 18 km of black pistes for advanced skiers and not to forget the free ski space outside of the groomed pistes. 70 modern cable cars transport you to the white skiing pleasure, including 29 gondolas and 21 chairlifts.

In the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn everyone will find the right slope.

Fieberbrunn enhances the Skicircus in many ways, but above all it is known as a freeride hotspot. As a tour stop of the Freeride World Tour, it not only has the finest backcountry to offer, but also some specials, such as B. a freeride park that cleverly combines freestyle fun and off-piste rides.

This top selection earned the ski area a five-star rating from our experts. In general, there is a large selection of special runs and areas in the Ski Circus, including speed measurement routes, snow trails and night ski slopes for a varied day of skiing. In order to share the photos and impressions taken with friends, there are also 40 WiFi stations in the ski area, where everyone can surf the Internet for free.

A total of 60 ski huts and refreshment stops in the ski area ensure your physical well-being – from rustic to modern and chic.

But that’s not all: From the 2019/20 winter season, the Skicircus will once again increase in size by creating a connection to the Schmitten ski area in Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun.

With the “Ski Alpin Card”, winter sports enthusiasts can choose from a total of 408 kilometers of downhill runs. These are accessed by 121 lifts and thus enable almost unlimited skiing fun in the Salzburg region.

The Skicircus offers a wide variety of slopes and fun slopes, including race tracks, fun slopes (brand new in 2018: the Fun slope “Zwölfer” and the Fun slope “U-Bahn”), ski movie trails or even a ski and boarder cross, so that every winter sports enthusiast will find their favourite slope here becomes.

A playful highlight are the “Snow Trails”, which are laid out next to the slopes and are harmoniously embedded in nature (only when there is enough fresh snow). Here you can also walk between trees and over bumps, just like when driving off-piste.

Children are not neglected in the Ski Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn either.

Demanding runs such as the “Zwölferkogel Nord” or “Schattberg Nord” make the cracks sweat. There are also great freeride slopes on the west side of the two mountains. On Saalbach’s local mountain, the Kohlmaiskopf, the 1991 World Cup slope is one of the highlights. For a comfortable and quick return home, valley runs lead down to all locations.

If you want to ski to Fieberbrunn, you can take the Vierstadlalm piste from the Reiterkogel towards Fieberbrunn. The red marked descent leads down over 3.5 km to the valley station of the TirolS cable car.

In Fieberbrunn there are mostly red slopes and several race tracks and snow parks waiting for experienced drivers. The snow hole also has a lot of off-road runs to offer for its size.

In the Ski Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn there are several snow parks, each of which is an attraction in itself. The night park at the Unterschwarzachbahn in Hinterglemm is illuminated daily until 9:30 p.m. and with an easy, medium and pro line, suitable for all skill levels.

The Learn-to-Ride-Park at Bernkogel near Saalbach and the Easy-Park at the middle station Streuboden in Fieberbrunn allow beginners to get into the freestyle profession gently on very low boxes. The NITRO snow park in Leogang also makes freestylers’ hearts beat faster. The large range of special slopes and snow parks also gives the Ski Circus the best star rating in the snow parks category.

In such a large ski area as the Ski Circus there are of course several ski circuits on which fit skiers can experience the region in all its vastness. The Ski Circus offers a total of five ski circuits, the longest of which is the Ski Circus Challenge. On the tour you go around the entire ski area, with 65 km of slopes, 12,400 meters in altitude and 32 lifts to be mastered – a decent daily workload.

The Ski Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn received the best star rating in almost all categories. The modern lifts, the specific offers for free riders, families and snow park fans as well as the varied gastronomy with the right portion of après-ski are particularly praised.

5) Off-piste activities

The Timoks Winter Coaster is a fast-paced year-round toboggan run on Streuboden in Fieberbrunn, which impresses with its “Kaiserwelle”, “Giant Snake” and “360 ° Carousel”. On the Biberg, tobogganing fun awaits the whole family on a 6 km long natural toboggan run.

The list of activities also includes horse-drawn carriage rides, ice stock sport, ice skating, winter hiking across the “Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps” and the “Baumzipfelweg”, as well as paragliding. Nordic athletes will find numerous trails in the entire region.

In addition to sports and leisure activities, up to 100 events take place in Saalbach Hinterglemm alone every year.

These include sports competitions such as the FIS European Cup and the “Mountain Attack” touring ski marathon, but also concerts and DJ parties with hip artists and live acts.

Where there is music, there is also a party! The après-ski enjoys a very good reputation in the Skicircus and is given five stars in our expert rating. Especially in Saalbach and Hinterglemm, there is a party in the afternoons in the alpine huts and umbrella bars, in the evenings in pubs and discos.

Relevant localities like the Hinterhag Alm, the Goass-Alm, Bauer’s Schi-Alm or the legendary Castello heat up their guests with proper après-ski music. Here, even long after the lifts close, no one slept.

3 places – one common denominator: The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn connects three places to one of the largest ski areas in Austria.

The fact that the three locations are so different makes the merger all the more attractive for guests from all over the world. The lively Saalbach is known for extravagant après-ski and an outstanding event program. It is flanked by the smaller villages of Vorderglemm and Hinterglemm. Cable cars lead from all three districts to the Skicircus.

On the other side of the ski mountains in the Saalachtal is  Leogang , which as a cozy holiday village is ideal for families and those looking for relaxation. The high-contrast Saalfelden Leogang region offers guests a wide range of sporting and cultural levels.

Fieberbrunn is the largest town in the Pillerseetal and enables an active holiday in a quiet environment. With a well-filled calendar of events, a wide variety of leisure activities and a sizable freeride hotspot, Fieberbrunn is an insider tip for families and freeriders.

7) Arrival in the Ski Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski area

Travelers can get to Saalbach Hinterglemm by car from the north via the A8 and the Inntal triangle, then via Kössen and Waidring to Lofer (B311). At Maishofen, switch to Glemmerstrasse, which leads to your destination.

After Leogang and Fieberbrunn in the Pillerseetal, it goes via Kufstein and also via St. Johann in Tirol on the B164, which leads to Fieberbrunn and then to Leogang. The routes require a vignette.

You can take the train to Zell am See, which is approx. 20 km from Saalbach. The nearest airports are Salzburg (approx. 85 km), Innsbruck (160 km) and Munich (approx. 195 km).
