The market town of Schiefling am Wörthersee is located east of the spa town of Velden and borders in the south with a length of around 4 km on the Wörthersee and flows directly into the Keutschacher Seental.

You can withdraw, enjoy peace, culture and nature and immerse yourself in the tingling life of the Wörthersee at any time. The public lido on the south bank of the Wörthersee invites you to swim and enjoy the water.

The most striking geographical point of the municipality is the isolated, steep and tree-covered Kathreinkogel in the western municipality area with a height of 772 m. On the historic Kogel one from 1200 BC. original settlement and is currently the oldest excavated settlement in the entire Eastern Alps. The finds range from the Neolithic through the Bronze Age to late antiquity. A museum built over a cistern with a capacity of 80,000 liters brings many details of the past to light.

A hike through the unique Ramsar area (internationally recognized and awarded predicate) “Moor and lake landscape Keutschacher Seental” with its numerous floristic and faunistic rarities offers peace and tranquility and lets you quickly forget stress and hectic. The Trattnigteich and the Penkensee are particularly noteworthy natural idylls.
