The “WinterBlumenTraum” children’s area is located in the immediate vicinity. Here children can playfully learn to ski between oversized flowers and together with the Apollo butterfly, an alpine butterfly species. Three magic carpets and a heated tent to warm up complete the offer. There is a separate, inexpensive ski ticket to use the children’s area.

The Obstacle Park beckons

The snow park is particularly suitable for beginners. The obstacle park is close to the Alp Trider Eck lift and offers various bumps and a small half pipe. Those who want freestyle action will find one of the longest snow parks in the Alps in neighbouring Ischgl.

Discover the entire Silvretta Arena

For those who want to ride the entire range of the Silvretta Arena, the demanding gold smuggler’s round is the right one . On 35 km of slopes, the circuit leads across slopes and lifts across the ski area from Ischgl to Samnaun and back again. You not only pass the border, but also stop at several beautiful viewpoints. Your name refers to the possibility of cheap shopping in the duty free shops in Samnaun – but watch out, customs investigators are also out and about on the slopes!

Samnaun is duty-free because of its special location

The fact that the Swiss town of Samnaun is duty-free is due to its special location: Although it’s in Switzerland, for a long time it could only be reached via Austria . It was not until 1912 that an access road was built from the Lower Engadine to Samnaun. The customs exemption is a holdover from the time when the Samnauners had to purchase all goods from Austria and export them there.

Nowadays, duty-free shopping is an important industry and attracts many visitors.
