Interlaken

The well-known town of Interlaken is in a unique location between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and is known as the “gateway to the Jungfrau”. The holiday and congress location is located in the middle of the Bernese Oberland. At an altitude of 568 m, It is surrounded by the world-famous backdrop of the mighty three and four thousand meter peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

With a valid ski, hiking or toboggan pass and a completed guest card, you can use the free ski buses that go to the valley stations of the nearby ski areas. Thus Interlaken is the ideal starting point for the “Jungfrau Top Ski Region”! But you won’t get bored off the slopes either: Bars, discos, restaurants, sports and cultural facilities – Interlaken offers the best conditions for a varied holiday.

Jungfrau region

Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau with the famous Eiger north face are the trademarks of the Jungfrau Region. Located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, the area extends from Interlaken to the peaks of the Jungfrau massif. An impressive mountain panorama and crystal clear lakes attract thousands of tourists to the famous holiday resorts every year.

The region is home to some treasures, such as the “Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn” with the longest ice flow in the Alps (22 km), which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The restaurant “Piz Gloria” on the Schilthorn (2,970 m), which served as the backdrop for the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”, is probably just as famous. The “Top of Europe” is the highest train station in Europe and is located at an altitude of 3,454 m.
