Gstaad

The region has a further 9 chalet villages alongside Gstaad, located at an altitude of between 1,000 and 1,400 metres. Yet despite its style and class, Gstaad has remained genuinely Alpine and down-to-earth. It is proud of its tradition and lives and breathes it every day.

Over a thousand cultural and sporting events are available to visitors every year, including top events with an international reputation. In addition, visitors will find first-class hotels, outstanding shopping facilities along the traffic-free promenade and an airport in Saanen.

SKIING & SNOWBOARDING

200 kilometres of ski slopes nestled between 1,000 and 3,000 metres above sea level

The mountain railways & cableways of the Destination Gstaad are ideally equipped to comply with COVID-19 safeguards. The majority of the cable cars and chair lifts at the destination allow fewer than 10 people to travel at a time. This is the case for instance with the ultra-modern 10-person gondola lifts in the Saanersloch and Eggli ski areas. 70% of the lifts, chairlifts and uplifts have direct access to fresh air.

Skiing & Snowboarding

The destination Gstaad offers winter enthusiasts varied experiences in several ski areas. Anyone who wants a glacial feeling can enjoy it on the Glacier 3000. Fans of ski arenas will find plenty of space on the Rinderberg, Lengebrand, Saanerslochgrat, Hornberg and Horneggli. For epicures it takes one’s leave to visit the region Eggli-La Videmanette. The Tiger Run, the legendary steepest ski slope, is on the Wasserngrat.

Night Skiing

Anyone who didn’t let their hair down on the slopes during the day has the opportunity to do so at night in the Destination Gstaad. The Rinderberg offers ski and snowboard enthusiasts winter sports fun late into the evening on floodlit slopes.

Restaurants

In the several culinary stops spread across the entire destination, you feel far away from large crowds. Numerous cosy mountain inns with inviting sun terraces, Alpine charm and views of fantastic mountain panoramas increase the feel good factor and thus provide additional highlights in the wonderful diversity of the Destination. After a beautiful winter day enjoy the sun set, warm the hands with a hot drink and hear good music, all this is possible in the numerous snow bars along the slopes.

Learning Parks

Learning parks are practice slopes for children and beginners. Professional supervisors look after both young and not-so-young skiers on the learning parks. Ask for more information from the ski schools directly.

MEETINGS & INCENTIVES

Gstaad: Where creativity develops in a relaxed manner

In the Destination Gstaad, the providers of meetings, incentive trips and conferences will find a unique combination of first-class indoor and outdoor activities, intact nature in an Alpine atmosphere and a range of health and well-being services that the Swiss Tourist Association has awarded the “Wellness Destination” seal.

The Destination Gstaad is the only “Wellness Destination” to be marketed by the”Swiss Convention &Incentive Bureau (SCIB).” And with good reason: Organisers of meetings and conferences are guaranteed to stand out in the Destination Gstaadwith outstanding programme ideas. Ideas will develop here in a creative andrelaxed atmosphere.

Specialiced Hotels

The Destination Gstaad has specialist hotels for meetings and incentives, which have modern, well-equipped seminar rooms and excellent technical facilities. They also offer the full spectrum of services for this purpose.

Venues

The venues in Gstaad are as diverse as the destination itself. From converted, cosily appointed barns to luxury hotel ballrooms, the Saanenland offers every type of premises.

Activities

The premises available for seminars and events all have state-of-the-art technology, no matter how high your requirement standards are. But outside, beyond the doorstep, things are a little different. The world out there is still offline. After all, our region has remained genuinely authentic. Which is why, in Gstaad, you’ll find that incomparable blend of luxury, but also lots of tradition.

Top Events Without Affectation

Even the events – whether sporting or cultural – are understated in Gstaad. The prestigious Swiss Open Gstaad, for instance, the” Wimbledon of the Alps”, has exuded a serene sovereignty since 1915 – rather like Gstaad itself. People don’t shout about the attractions here”. What counts is friendly enjoyment without affectation. And so often it’s cow bells that ring out in public, in place of trumpets being blown! Come up, slow down.
